Family Lawyer in Houston, TX - Father's Rights I was born and raised a Jersey girl. I am still learning how to be a Texan, but I am embracing it. I love going to the Houston Rodeo, I have been to the Texas State Fair, countless barbeque establishments, and even endured the hottest summer (2011) that I could have ever imagined. The differences between the northeast and Texas are vast. I love Texas! I am now an obnoxiously proud Texan!

I went back to college when my twin girls were teenagers. I had always regretted not finishing college when I was younger. I was working in banking, got married, had children and just could not make the time to finish my bachelor’s degree too. As my children approached college, I wanted to show them that going back to school later in life was more difficult than just staying in college when you are young. My daughters did not enjoy having their mother study instead of driving them somewhere, going to the movies, or taking them shopping. They did learn that working toward a goal takes sacrifice and perseverance. I am happy that my decision to finish my education taught them something as well.

I am married to a wonderful man who is also a lawyer. He does patent work. We were married in 2009 after both being divorced. It was his encouragement that brought me to law school. I attended his alma mater, Widener University School of Law, in Delaware. During my time in law school, my husband completed a job search that brought him to Texas. I moved when law school was almost complete.

My approach to family law is that I am not shocked by most people’s stories. I understand that people make mistakes. I have been through divorce myself. I have friends that have been through it. I understand what it takes to share your children with someone you no longer like very much. I am still an intense Jersey girl underneath and I will be a strong advocate for you.
