Question 1: My girlfriend is pregnant. I want her to get an abortion but she refuses. I don’t want to be a father. Can I terminate my parental rights and just never have anything to do with this baby?
A: No. The chances of any court bastardizing a child is slim and none. If your girlfriend’s (future) husband wants to adopt this child, a step-parent adoption and termination of your rights may be an option.
